 Carillon High Performance Program

Carillon 18U High Performance Program

The Carillon Minor Baseball Association offers a Regional High Performance program for the 18U level that extends beyond league play and into the summer months.  These programs ask for an increased level of dedication and the skill level of a player is taken into consideration.  Players that are accepted into the program will be placed on one of the teams listed below

*Note – Details below will be dependant on provincial health recommendations

Carillon Regional AAA Provincial Team- The Carillon AAA team has a fairly intense schedule with weekly practices from April-Early August.  The team will play a full schedule (24-26 games) in the Winnipeg AAA league (WABA) from May-early July.  Double-headers will generally be held Saturdays or Sundays and single games will be held on a weeknight (finalized schedule to be released in April/May.

The team will also participate in the WABA Classic tournament in early June, the Winnipeg Wolf tournament in early July, the Provincial AAA Qualifier in July and the AAA Provincials in July.  There may be an additional one or two tournaments entered as determined by the team.

AAA players are not expected to play with their local association league team unless the association requires those players in terms of numbers to field a team. Their requests will be assessed by the Carillon Executive on a case by case basis.  Carillon is one of the largest minor baseball organizations in the province and typically have over 30 players trying out for this team.  Minor aged players/parents should remember the transition from 15U to 18U AAA is a very big step and generally, only 1-2 minor aged players make the AAA team.  Participation in past Carillon AAA teams does not guarantee a placement on the 18U AAA team.  However, the AA program has proven to be a very good development opportunity to prepare players for future AAA tryouts.  Parents/Players may also choose to not be considered for AAA, but only for the AA program.

Carillon Regional AA Provincial Team- The Carillon AA team has a fairly intense schedule with weekly practices from April-June and then two practices per week from July-mid August.  The team will play in the Winnipeg AA league (finalized schedule to be released in April/May) along with exhibition games, tournaments, and the Baseball Manitoba provincials in late July.

All AA players must play with their local association team as well.  Players interested in playing AA must participate in the AAA tryouts as they are held in conjunction with each other.  Consideration may be given to a player/parent that would prefer AA over AAA, but the expectation from Baseball Manitoba is our top players are on the AAA team.

Registration Process

Step 1- Registration must be completed online by April 4.  All players must register and pay the $50 fee online before attending the camps. This is an important process as the number of interested players will have an effect on how we organize and run the workout sessions.  Players will attend a total of four workout sessions.  Using the workouts to evaluate the players, the coaches will invite players to participate in the remainder of the roster identification process.  Players will not receive an evaluation report, but will receive notification whether they are or not invited to the next stage of the process. Feedback can be requested from the coaches upon request.

Step 2- The identification process will continue with rosters finalized by mid-May.

Step 3- Player fees will be paid online by June 1st for the remainder of the season.  The estimated fees are as follows –

18U AAA- $400       18U AA- $300
